To tell you the truth, I was a little crushed that kids weren't watching Blue's Clues anymore. You see, Steve and I had a relationship. Some days, he was the only adult contact I had until my husband got home...and he and I became *thisclose*. (Then he left and they brought Joe on board, who might have been cuter, but didn't have Steve's charm. But I digress.)
Back to Wubbzy....character cookies make me nervous. Just look at Batman. So, I took the chicken's way out and used my icing printer.

I really like edible image cookies with a decorative edge. That's probably because I never get them on exactly centered. Here's an example of edible image cookies with a piped edge.
If you don't have an icing printer, you can usually have them printed for you at a bakery supply shop...call ahead, you'll probably need to format the image for them. I've even heard you can get them from the grocery store!

Happy birthday, Violet!
Now, I'm going to check hulu for my old friend Steve.

GORGEOUS!! I never would have thought of that wonderful border... how fun!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are the best! Now come over and make me some cookies. I am demanding baked goods by Bridget.
I am Amanda Demanda.
hehe
Blessings-
Amanda
These are adorbale!!! My kids love Wubzy! Where did you get your icing printer??? I have been looking for one. Also, Steve went to rehab, and now he is a musician who sings songs on Nick Jr. See link: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1904714035
ReplyDelete:) Love the cookies!
I love the edible images! I was scared of them when I first tried them, but they're easy! And you're right, the border makes it all come together.
ReplyDeleteI think I might have to go and get my own printer :)
Your cookies are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I feel like I must tell you Steve was running around on you. . .with me. :)
My niece still watches Blues Clues on the Netflix Instant Que. We watched just the other day!
ReplyDeleteWow!Wow!Wubbzy Cookie Decorator!! They actually pop with the sprinkle border.
ReplyDeleteLoved your comment about Steve. Did you ever bake him cookies? (Inquiring minds want to know LOL)
Those are really cute.
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable, Bridget! I love the border in particular. It adds a special touch to the cookies.
ReplyDeleteThese are soooo adorable Bridget!!...I want to print edible images!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!!
Super cute!
ReplyDeleteJudy@cutest-little-things
Love, love, love this cookies!!
ReplyDeleteWubzy...not so much. He's weird and talks really annoying. But he came across surprisingly well in cookie form!!
And I'm with you on Steve. My son was all about Blues Clues awhile back, and I was not a happy camper when Joe came on the scene.
I pine for an icing printer and would LOVE any info on what type you recommend and where you bought yours. (and how expensive)
Thanks!!
I am with you Bridget, I ♥ Steve and Blues Clues! Love these cookies! I haven't tried this yet, but considering getting one. What do you think of the taste of the cookie with the sheets applied?
ReplyDeleteDon't know anything about the Wubzy but I do know that I 'wub' the looks of these cookies. You scored again Bridget!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else. I loved Steve & Blues Clues! You're cookies turned out great. The image is so clear & crisp!
ReplyDeleteI had a relationship with Steve too... but really it was really short lived because he left shortly after I met him and then it was just me and Joe. Ironically, my daughter is now very partial to Joe. Sometime she cries when Steve comes on instead of Joe.
ReplyDeleteGuess we have similar taste?
All that said. Love the cookies. Makes me want to get a printer for decorating too.
So cute, love them!
ReplyDeleteI haddn't heard of Wubbzy before, and long & gone are the days when my boys used to watch Blues Clues... sigh. (Someone is getting old)
SOOOOO cute. Don't show them to E or she would eat them all!
ReplyDeleteI don't know "Wubbzy," but these are cute cookies!
ReplyDeleteViolet sure loved these cookies!! She told me just the other day that those were "HER FAVORITE COOKIES!!!"
ReplyDeleteI wanted to ask if you know of a reputable company that prints online (before I call the dozens of bakers in my area). These look so much fun, I would love to get a printer of my own eventually.
ReplyDeleteI always learn something new from you, and not always about cookies. Wubbzy? Who knew?!
ReplyDeleteI also like Steve more that Joe... Joe grew on me, but I was not welcoming at the start! AND, I know what Wubzy is now... and now that I've seen these cookies I'm wondering how Wubzy cookies can fit in with a Rocket theme for kiddos birthday... hmmmm
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't care for Joe much. Steve was way better!
WHOA! I love these!!!
ReplyDeleteMy son, who is now 11, was totally stressed when Steve went to college (so was I). We have to agree with you on Joe, but now my 5 year old is a Wubbzy fan. Interestingly enough, I used to actually watch Blues Clues with my oldest son, but Wubbzy with my youngest? Not so much. At least I could make him a Wubbzy cookie or two:)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of these either. And I'm not that old :P
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute Bridget. My kids are between 7-17 yrs. old, and I have no idea what a Wubbzy is...gonna have to go google it! They loved Blues Clues also.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I first heard you talk about an icing printer; nice to see it in action! Adorable cookies.
ReplyDeleteI too had a relationship with Steve~ I do miss him so..but some reason the kiddos these day love wubzy~ these are adorable and I know they were a big hit ;)
ReplyDeleteThose are great! I am sure she was thrilled.
ReplyDeleteI laughed when I read what you said about Steve from Blues Clues..I know exactly what you mean..lol..and no, Joe just wasn't the same:)
Perfect little cookies!! Im sure Violet (YES i loved the name!!) loved them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday!!
Those cookies are SOOOO cute! I have no idea what a Wuzzby was either, (thanks for the crash-course!)
ReplyDeleteI guess I really should pull out the edible ink printer I ordered and try this for myself! I am just so intimidated by it! :(
Tell me that I can do it! Please! :)
Pretty cookies
ReplyDeleteCute cookies, what a great idea!! My boys like Wubbzy too....but they LOVE Blue's Clues!! We still watch it in our house...re-runs on Nick Jr.!! In fact my 4 year old sleeps with a stuffed Blue, Magenta and Periwinkle every night.
ReplyDeleteWe've got a Wubzy daughter as well. She did like Blue's Clues but grew out of that a couple of years ago. She'd adore those cookies. I love the border as well. You're so talented.
ReplyDeleteI MISS Steve from Blue's Clues!! I thought he was just so cute!
ReplyDeleteThese are super cute (even though I've actually never heard of these Wubbzy people...)! I love the rainbow sprinkles- I have some and can't wait to use them!!
Is there something wrong with the fact that, at age 25, rainbow sprinkles still make me all giddy inside? These are SO fun! Now all I need is a good excuse to make 'em...
ReplyDeleteBridget-I got lost after Big Bird :) Sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteHahah- I feel the exact same way about Blue's Clues! My 13 year old looooved Steve and Blue. Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper (french accent)! Gorgeous cookies= talent!
ReplyDeleteLove the cookies and I too loved Steve. Aahhh the days.
ReplyDeleteAny tips to getting the icing images to lay flat instead of curling up on the edges? I'm guessing my flooding icing is a bit on the watery side.
ReplyDeletehow do you use a pic. on top of the cake ?!?!? O.O
ReplyDeleteO.O!!!
ReplyDeletehow do you use PIc. for the one on top of the cake?!?!
