Organizing cookie cutters...Works For Me Wednesday

I outgrew my cookie cutter basket years ago. Not only was it overflowing, but it was a pain to dig for the right cutter.

In our last house, my husband came up with this plan...a shoe rack. He attached it to the back of one of our doors and I just popped the cookie cutters on in alphabetical order.

When we moved, there wasn't a good "cookie cutter door," so I'm using this rack of wire baskets and baggies to organize my cutters. Baggies aren't the prettiest, but they work!
cookie cutter drawers

They, too, are in alphabetical order. Can you guess which letter has the most baggies? The letter S wins with 3 baggies full and 23 cutters!

Hearts get their own bag. :)

The top drawer is my favorite. It has ribbon, cookie bags, gift tags, etc. I wish the rest of my life was this organized.

  3. That is a great idea...I just have a never ending drawer. Do you have any suggestions for doing a lollipop cookie? Somebody wants those and wanted to see if you had any tips. The big lollipops with the swirl colors.

  4. I have plastic boxes that all stack together. I sort by theme/holiday. Where did you find the labels/gift tags with the Bake @ 350 if I might ask? Which I just did so I guess I should say if you care to answer. =)

  8. Betsy...hmmm. I'd have to look at some pictures, but off the top of my head, maybe you could do them using the wet-on-wet flood icing, one color on top of of blending into another? Let me know waht you come up with!

flourgirl...I had them custom made from a shop on etsy...thisandthat. She's wonderful!

  10. Wow, you've got a lot of cutters. Shoe racks are good for lots of things especially the ones with pockets.

I agree that top drawer does have a lot of cool stuff in there. I like your labels! What's the silver "tool"? A crimper?

  14. Nice organization. I think you are lucky that your new house did not have a door that was right for the shoe rack so that you were inspired to this new option. It looks wonderful.

  18. Wow - I am impressed by your organization!

How would you like to come organize mine since you are the expert? :) I have mine divided into shoe boxes at the moment... I don't have nearly as many cookie cutters as you do, though. Instead, I have a spice addiction and have trouble keeping track of all of my spices and herbs.
