Chocolate Almond Cherry Biscotti...don't try to resist them.

chocolate almond cherry biscotti recipe ♥
This picture pretty much sums up my loves in life: red + white, hearts, valentines, polka dots, cherries, almonds and chocolate.

I love biscotti. If you've never made them before, they bake twice.  For the first bake, the dough is shaped into a log.  Then, the baked dough is cooled a bit, sliced, and baked again.  This ensures cookies with a great crunch.

{Anyone else see that heart-shaped almond?  While we're on the subject...has anybody seen Drew Barrymore's new book, Find It In Everything?  I think I must buy it.}

The cookies are crunchy and chocolatey.  Chock-full of chopped almonds and sweet dried cherries, they're dipped in melted semisweet chocolate to make them extra special.

Perfect for dessert, perfect with a cappuccino, perfect for breakfast, perfect for packaging and giving this Valentine's Day.

  8. I think these would be amazing with my morning coffee, Bridget! I always thought you needed a special pan to make biscotti. You were able to shape these by hand?

    1. No special pan needed for biscotti. Yay! Yes, they're shaped by hand...first in one log, then sliced and baked again. :)

  9. Can you leave out the cherries? (The husband is allergic, but is a huge fan of chocolate+almond combo) Also love the measuring cups? Where'd you get them?

    1. Sure...you might even want to throw in some extra chopped almonds. :)

      Red measuring cups are from Sur la Table and the others I've had for many years....I think they were from Red Envelope.

  16. Thank you, Bridget for this wonderful recipe. I hadn't made Biscotti in years. I made these for a recent get together and they were wolfed down in no time flat. I even doubled the recipe, but I still only had one left to photograph the next morning. A winner to be sure. Here's my take on it:
