I Just Blogged to Say I Love You (Vol. 6)

vol 6 collage photo vol6collage.jpg
1. FIRST, my sister just had her 4th baby...and after 3 boys, she and her husband welcomed home a sweet baby girl, Rosie. ♥ She's precious, and sweet, and perfect...and her aunt is so happy to be able to shop in the GIRLS' section of baby Gap, Janie & Jack & mini Boden.

2. Speaking of shopping, will there ever be a day when I spend $258 on a pair of shoes?  If so, these babies are first on my list.  I think I'd need two pair because I'd wear them every.day.

3. These cookies are just another example of why Gail is one of my cookie heroes.

4. And is this ruffle flower "corsage" for a cupcake not gorgeous?!?  It looks fairly simple, too.  You know, the way things on Pinterest look simple until you try them.

5. My dad orders his Reuben sandwiches on white bread. I've also seen him order strawberry ice cream with gummy bear mix-in in a chocolate dipped cone, but I digress.  I'm thinking these Reuben Egg Rolls are a step up in the Reuben department from either white OR rye bread.

6. Can we talk eyelashes?  Mine were falling out. This was not good.  So, I tried one of those eyelash serums.  Y'all...it WORKED. After about 3-4 weeks, I could see longer lashes and no more fallout.  I actually had to stop using it for a bit because my eyelashes were getting too long. (FYI: it took a couple of applications for me to get the hang of applying it TO my lashes and not IN my eyeballs.)

7. Running: I'm still doing it. (Miracle of miracles.) Here are my 3 current fav running songs: Bad Reputation, Joan Jett; Gunpowder & Lead, Miranda Lambert; Hell on Heels, Pistol Annies.  Apparently, running turns me into some sort of bad girl.  I do balance it out with a little Hold Us Together, Matt Maher.

8. Oh!  Have you read Firefly Lane?  I absolutely loved it.  There's a follow-up coming out soon...later this month.  I can't wait to dive in.

What are YOU loving lately (especially in the running songs department)?  I'd love to hear!

  4. I love Beyonce when running. Such a guilty pleasure, but her songs make me run with a smile (which probably freaks everyone out on the streets). WHO RUNS THE WORLD - GIRLS!

    Also the cupcake is gorgeous.

  6. Some of my favorite running tunes are: Daylight by Matt & Kim, Flathead and Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis, Salute Your Salution by the Raconteurs, Blue Orchid by the White Stripes, I’m Shakin’ by Jack White, Womanizer by Britney Spears, Pon de Replay by Rhianna, Clint Eastwood (Ed Case /Sweetie Remix) by the Gorillaz… I could go on and on… I love music when I run. 8. Most recently I love running to Icona Pop - I Love It. It's a pretty weird song but the beat just keeps me going and when I get to the top of a hill I love being able to yell out "I don't care! I love it!!" With the song, of course!

  9. I love running to Run the World by Beyonce and pretty much any non-ballad song on the Hunger Games soundtrack.

  10. I actually LOVE running to Hold Us Together :) Some of my other favorites right now are Carry Me - Josh Wilson, Troublemaker - Olly Murs and Kings and Queens - Audio Adrenaline. Something about the Christian rock songs get me motivated!

  13. First a little tidbit of information for you- if you wear a ladies size 7 shoe, you also wear a girls size 5. I say that because I just got a really cute (ok maybe 2) pairs of sandals from Marshall's one is in a similar vein to those cuties above. Size 5 girls, only $20, the other pair- $16! Woohoo! Second, I LOVE gummy bears in ice cream my favorite and you can never get enough in there.

  15. I'm a distance runner... somewhere between 8 to 18 miles on any given day. Honestly, I love listening to classical music; it's so cathartic. Other than that, it's electronic music.

I read Firefly Lane a few years ago - I may have to re-read it before the sequel comes out.

  17. First of all Congrats. on the new niece. It is so much fun to shop for little girls! LOVE those shoes:) I have actually had Rueben Egg Rolls at McGuire's Irish Pub in Pensacola and they are delicious. Running in a run at Market Street this weekend, and plan to add "Done" by The Band Perry and some Lumineers songs. Happy Running!

  18. Hooray for nieces!! You're gonna have so much fun spoiling her. :))

Now, FWIW, just today I saw an add for an eyelash extending product, and at the very end in teeny tiny print was a statement about the effects not having been tested beyond two years. At the time I thought, "I don't need long lashes bad enough to risk my health!"

  19. I loved "99 Red Balloons" to run with. It has slow spots and then gets moving

  22. Bridget! I like your post - that cupcake is drop dead gorgeous. I have a random question about the lashes, because mine have been falling out for awhile now :( Does the serum make your lashes *fuller*....or just longer?

  23. However, if you are getting healthier and have a excellent
chance of searching a lot superior, isn't it worth carrying out it anyway?

  26. What am I loving lately? Well, I'm loving this blog of yours. I'm very new to blog reading; in fact, I've never read a blog before. (Can you believe that? I know, my life had a blogless void until now) I happened to find your blog after scanning through Bakerella's site looking for tips and tricks after a recent cake pop disaster. Instantly, I was hooked. I feel like I've made a new friend here at Bake at 350. I went to the bookstore yesterday and nearly fainted when i found the last copy of your book on the shelf. LOVE THE BOOK! LOVE THE BLOG! Thanks for the laughs and the inspiration!
