{Hang on, hang on...we're going to get to this little beauty in a minute.}
Let's talk first about exercise. You might be surprised to learn that I have a piece of exercise equipment that I actually use. It's this: a mini stair-stepper. Yes, I owe this body to that mini stair-stepper.
{Makes you want to run right out and buy one, right?}
The key to using it is to DVR TV shows that make you forget that you might be breaking a sweat. Hard-hitting, serious, current events-type programming, like What Not to Wear, Barefoot Contessa, and most recently, to my shame, Real Housewives of New Jersey. (It's better than you think, people.)
Anyway...I have a new show to watch now...Top Chef Just Desserts on Bravo. A show about DESSERTS! It's really riveting. I watched the first episode while on the stair-stepper last week and almost forgot I was exercising.
Here's a little clip, so you can get an idea of the show...
{Those are REAL pastry chefs, my friends. I already have a few favorite contenders picked out...and they don't include that guy with the creepy laugh. ;)}
OK...so what does this have to do with this lovely KitchenAid mixer? Well, the folks at Bravo thought we might like to celebrate this new season of Top Chef Just Desserts. One of you is going to win this mixer!!! Woot!

*leave a comment on this post answering this question:
"If you were in a dessert competition, what would you make?"
Giveaway closed! Congrats to Jessica!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE make sure your comment includes an email address or links to one. It would be really, really sad if your name was chosen and I couldn't contact you.
*Random winner will be chosen Monday, September 5th at 8am CST. US residents only. Good luck!*
{{psst...the second episode of Just Desserts airs Wednesday, August 31st and 10/9c.}}
{disclaimer: This prize was provided by the BRAVO Network but BRAVO is not a sponsor, administrator, or involved in any other way with this giveaway. All opinions expressed in the post are my own and not those of BRAVO. Although, I'm pretty sure they'd approve of my exercise regimen.}

Something with Nutella.... I'm a sucker for anything with that choc nutty gooey goodness!
ReplyDeletecowboybootsandbabybooties@yahoo.com
Hmm. Well, it's a little weird, but maybe a yule log with meringue mushrooms. It'd stand out at least :)
ReplyDeleteI love Top Chef Just Desserts!! I would probably make some sort of cookies because I have recipes in my head & they would be quick. I'd probably need to make something more refined, though...unless it is the most awesome cookie ever. This mixer is gorgeous, by the way.

ReplyDeleteIf I were in a competition, FIRST I would cry (not out of fear, but to garner the sympathy of the judges) THEN I would make some type of cupcake. No one can resist a cupcake, right?!
I would make one of two desserts. My grandfather has his own recipe for pumpkin pie that is spiced with molasses, ginger and nutmeg. I'll never eat a bland pumpkin pie again! The other recipe I would enter would be Death by Crazed Monkeys. It's a recipe I came up with last year that includes chocolate croissant bread pudding, butterscotch pudding, whipped cream, snickers, bananas, chocolate chips and caramel sauce. It's delicious!
ReplyDeleteSince fall is in the air (in DC at least!), I would make apple caramel cupcakes, with a cinnamon buttercream icing and caramel drizzled over the top... and a little fondant apple to make it just perfect! Such a great way to celebrate the start of a new school year!

ReplyDeleteA fruit tart! Okay I've had the real housewives of NJ on a couple of times, I'm trying to get into it. There a couple of women who just seem down right nasty, am I wrong? Why are these women pretending to be friends? (Anita@ monery.net)
ReplyDeleteI'd make a vanilla crepe with a fresh raspberry sauce and whipped cream. Yes please. Thanks as always for the opportunity and Housewives of Jersey makes me just giggle.

ReplyDeleteIs there a time limit? If so, maybe a DELISH peach cobbler. If not, well the possibilities are endless...a Hungarian Torte would be my first thought, or maybe a Brownie Trifle that is often requested by friends, or a Lemon Tart...
ReplyDeleteHow do I give you a means to communicate without giving everyone on here my email address though???
Great giveaway!! I love Top Chef Just Desserts :) If I were in the competition, I would probably make some kind of s'mores tart with a graham cracker crust, a rich chocolate filling, and a marshmallow meringue topping that I'd brown up with a torch...actually I kind of want to go make that just because!
