Let me just say...I HATE DRAWING PENTAGONS!!! Ugh!

These cookies were probably the most difficult ones I've made in a while....I am apparently polygon-challenged. They're not my favorite, either, but the kids liked them. I think everyone enjoys seeing their name on something, don't you?

Looking for more sports-related cookies? Try these:

I have head that soccer balls are one of the hardest things to create in baking. I think yours turned out quite well!
ReplyDeleteThe red look good over the perfect black-white poligons... which color you did first? there's no bleeding at all!!
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute! You are one dedicated soccer mom. That would be way too much work for me.
ReplyDeletethese are awesome! i bet the kids were thrilled - probably didn't want to eat them and destroy them - lol! i tried making a soccer ball pattern for a scrapbook page one day - i finally gave up and threw it all in the trash - lol! kudos to you for perserverance :O)
ReplyDeleteSo cute - I bet everyone loved them!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I am actually having the same problem with my cookies when the flood icing dries that Donna @ Way More Homemade was having (the texture isn't coming out smooth at all). Could you please email me and tell me what I'm doing wrong? All of your cookies just come out so cute, and I cannot get mine to keep their smooth texture for anything. My email is paul445 at bellsouth dot net. Thank you! And again, these cookies are great!
ReplyDeleteBea...I filled in the black, then the white. I waited about an hour, then added the names in red.
ReplyDeleteLindsay...I'll email you. :)
Oh, those do look difficult. I can't cut a straight line or draw a circle, so yeah.
ReplyDeleteWhen it's our turn to bring snacks to t-ball, I can barely organize myself to buy a box of granola bars. I'll glad none of the parents on the team are as crafty as you!
ReplyDeleteThese look great - and hard to make! But I agree, if their name is on the cookie anything else doesn't matter.
ReplyDeleteI agree...the soccer balls are no fun, and the more you do and the longer you are looking at them they just never seem right..ya know? Yours look great though!
ReplyDeleteThey came out nice but totally get the polygon issues.
ReplyDelete~ingrid
I think they look great!
ReplyDeleteOk, I am so impressed! How pretty, precise, and I wish I had half your talent! :)
ReplyDeleteWHAT A LUCKY SOCCER TEAM!! I LOVE THEM AND I BET THE KIDS DID TOO! YOU SHOWED ALL THOSE OTHER SOCCER MOM'S TEEHEE!
ReplyDeleteI feel you pentagonal pain! I made soccer ball cookies for my cousin and I am even more geometrically challenged than you. Add in black and white icing and i could just be cookie decorating hell!
ReplyDeletePS -- When it came time to do cookies for my daughter's team -- I did a jersey with the team colors/design and their number...much easier.
ReplyDeleteHoley moley, I can't even draw a soccer ball, let alone make one with frosting. Yours look fabulous. You have some serious skills!
ReplyDeleteThose look GREAT!!! I'll have to remember this for dd's Basketball team next year!!
ReplyDeleteHey, I wanted to ask you, do you have a large circle cookie cutter? I've been looking for one and can't find one - one of our local bakeries makes "smiley face cookies" and dd wants to make them, but I can't find a nice pain circle (maybe 4-5" diameter) LOL

Those are AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job.
tedious, but the result look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou better watch it or you'll be voted in to be the "All Time Snack Bringer."
ReplyDeleteI have been a team parent for years, from soccer to cheerleading to wrestling and I would like to show you something that might help your team with organizing volunteers, fundraising events and parties.
ReplyDeletewww.signupgenius.com/backtoschool
It's a FREE program that can help organize volunteers and events. I think it would be perfect for any volunteer coordinators, team moms, and teachers as well as class moms organize fundraising events.
I am the team mom for my daughter's cheerleading team and I used it for our 4th of July parade signups and it worked so well, getting more volunteers than we have ever had. It really makes it so much easier than calling and emailing parents individually. I'm going to start using it for all of our events like car washes and parties and stuff.
My kid’s school is going to start using it because it has been so difficult for the class moms to get volunteers. Its free so I don't get anything out of it, just thought I'd pass the info along.
Please take a look and let me know what you think.
