A kitchen must-have...Works For Me Wednesday

What works for me everyday in the kitchen? My bench scraper!!!
Do you have one of these babies? Obviously, they are wonderful at "scraping the bench," or scraping dough off of a counter top.
It's the perfect tool for dividing dough...just press straight down. Not just bread dough, but..
...scones, too! I used my bench scraper to transfer this sticky dough (uncooked and cut into eighths) onto my cookie sheet. Try that with a spatula! :)But, what do I use my bench scraper for most? Cutting brownies and blondies and pies, oh my! No ruining the bottom of the pan, no glob of brownie stuck to the knife (although, I do kind of miss eating that), just perfect slices.
Go on over to We Are THAT Family to see more WFMW tips!

  3. I really like mine a lot, too, though I don't use it to "scrap the bench". I use it for just about everything else. I also have a large one that is actually a cake lifter and it's great for cutting bars, too. I have tried cutting pies with either one. Gonna keep that mind. THX!

  5. I've always wanted one of these. I have the Pampered Chef crinkle cutter and sometimes use it for cutting dough, sandwiches, etc, but obviously the real thing would work better.

  9. Great tips. This is the first time I have visited your blog and I really like it. I am going to add it to my reader and check it often. BTW, I use my scraper to scrape play dough after the kids have made a mess of the kitchen table.

  19. I have a bench scraper, but it never crossed my mind to use it to cut brownies. What a fantastic idea. I typically make brownies in my mini muffin pan to avoid having to cut them! I will be giving that a try.

  28. I'm going to have to use mine more - the darned thing is so sharp that I have cut my finger on it more times than I care to mention. lol

I like to use it to pick up all of the veggies I've just cut and put them into my pan, or into my soup.

I hadn't thought about it for brownies - Yumm!! I should go make some.

My WFMW post this week is about keeping drinks cold.
    Have a great week!
